Child hit by car outside school on Indy's near south side

INDIANAPOLIS — A child was transported to a hospital with minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle during morning arrival at Emma Donnan Elementary and Middle School on the city’s near south side.

An Indianapolis Fire Department run shows that a pedestrian struck call went out at 7:26 a.m. to 1202 E. Troy Avenue — the location of Emma Donna Elementary and Middle School.

Perry Township adds new technology for school bus safety

School officials confirm that during morning drop-off one of their students was struck by a driver who stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities. The school did not clarify if the student was elementary or middle school-aged.

A school official said support and assistance will be offered to both students and staff as they process this incident. Families of those involved have reportedly been notified.

No arrests have been reported by Indy metro police.
